Staying in North Carolina over Winter Break? Here are some super fun activities to do while you’re on break!
- McAdenville, USA: If you are willing to visit Christmastown, USA, this is the place for you with such beautiful Christmas lights and a great little downtown McAdenville atmosphere. In the suburbs of Charlotte, McAdenville gets thousands of visitors each year who come for the beautiful decorations. This is completely free and a great wintertime activity if you are in the area!
- Ice Skating: Whether you are visiting The Rink in downtown Raleigh’s Red Hat amphitheater, the Charlotte Ice Skating Rink Uptown or anything in between, Ice Skating is a classic winter activity that everyone needs to try! This could make for a cute date, an activity with friends or even family!
- Speedway Christmas: Visit Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Annual Christmas Drive Thru to look at beautiful lights while being on the famous Nascar Racetrack. It features more than five million lights on a four-mile course the includes the legendary oval, pit road, and infield road course. The show is open 6-10pm (rain or shine) and features synchronized lights to music and drive in movies on the huge Speedway TV every Thursday through Sunday until Christmas. It will go on until Sunday, January 7 and tickets vary from $45-$175.
- Nutcracker with the Charlotte Ballet- The Nutcracker is a class wintertime movie, and the Charlotte Ballet puts on a beautiful performance every year. Grab some dinner with friends or your significant other before, and head on over to Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and watch the Charlotte Ballet put on this masterpiece. Tickets range from $100-$400.
