Meet our new Campus Cutie Couple, Dalia Mejia and Antonio Di Vita!
How did you meet?
Antonio: Dalia and I went to school together since we were young. We knew each other since middle school. However, right before 9th grade, Dalia moved to Virginia. After about a year or two, she wished me happy birthday on Facebook and that’s when we began to talk again. That’s when we knew that we were perfect for each other and we began to date, still being 8 hours away.Â
Dalia: We went to middle school together and had classes together, but then I moved to Virginia before starting high school. I posted happy birthday on his Facebook page and then we began talking, about a year later we began a long distance relationship. The rest is history!

Who initiated the first kiss?

Antonio: I don’t remember exactly who initiated the first kiss. I believe Dalia was the first.Â
Dalia: I’m pretty sure it was me.
How long have you been dating?
Antonio: We have been dating for 3 years now. We made 3 years on January 27th.Â
Dalia: We made 3 years this January.

What has been your most memorable date?

Antonio: Our most memorable date was when I surprised Dalia by coming to Virginia one summer. We spent Fourth of July weekend together and watched the fireworks on Virginia Beach.Â
Dalia: When Antonio came to visit me in Virginia and we went to Virginia Beach.
Â
What is your favorite thing about your significant other?
Antonio: Really everything! Haha. If I had to choose one thing it would be her beautiful smile. It brings me up whenever I’m down.Â
Dalia: Â He always knows how to make me laugh, he’s super smart, very caring, and he’s Italian and knows how to cook. What more could you ask for?!Â

Who said “I love you” first?

Antonio: I was the first to say “I love you.” We always talk about the time I did.
Dalia: He did!
How do you resolve arguments?

Antonio: We have yet to have a “big” argument. However, we occasinally disagree on many things. Usually she is first to say something cute or she will come to me and give me a kiss. Then the tension will start to ease up.Â
Dalia: We’ve never had a real big argument, but sometimes we get each other mad over little things and it usually gets resolved by me going to him and doing things to make him smile and laugh again.
Â
Do you have any advice to give to new couples?
Antonio: Trust and loyalty is KEY! There will be times in a relationship where you get skeptical but you really have to have trust in each other. I always think how I may not find exactly what I have now ever again. And I don’t want to lose what I have with Dalia.Â
Dalia: Have trust in each other, and be honest. Also, always support each other through the good times and hard times.
Â
What celebrity couple are your “goals?”
Antonio: We don’t really follow many celebrities. Dalia would be the one to better answer that question.Â
Dalia: I don’t really look up to celebrity couples but if I had to choose, probably Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler.
