Bri Sirota is a junior Marketing major from Glassboro, New Jersey. You may recognize Bri from her extensive involvement around campus, specifically for her position as the Campus Correspondent/Vice President of Her Campus New Haven. Other than Her Campus, Bri is a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma, the Vice Crew Captain for Love your Melon, the Events and Logistics Director for St. Jude’s Up ‘Til Dawn, a member of the Student Conduct Board and a Foundations for Success Mentor for the First Year Success Center. Bri also works for the Provost Office here at UNH and loves it. She loves it so much in fact, that she’s considering working for a University as a head administrator on the academic side of higher education. Bri hopes to eventually attend graduate school to obtain her doctorate degree, but she is in no rush, as long as she is not living in her Gramma’s basement after college!
Love Your Melon has become a huge part of Bri’s life since its colonization at UNH. Since joining, this organization has impacted her life for the better. She says, “Being able to make a difference in the lives of these children is hands down the best thing I have ever been able to do. I love my entire crew and working with them to increase our sales and spread our mission.” Bri has even gotten the opportunity to meet some of the world’s bravest little superheroes. The mission of Love Your Melon, as well as St. Judes, has encouraged Bri to involve herself as much as possible. Bri states, “I have been affected by cancer and I love kids, so the thought of children having to go through everything that cancer does to the body devastates me. Being a part of both organizations allows me to contribute and impact the kids in to different ways.” Whether it’s providing medical care, or a hat to brighten someone’s day, Bri is just happy to help out and even more ecstatic to hold a leadership position within these organizations.
Being a leader for Love Your Melon and St. Jude’s, as well as Her Campus, has made Bri a well-rounded individual and she thanks Phi Sig for all her success. Bri’s sisters saw her potential, and she was immediately elected into a position where she planned and hosted a few events. Through her membership in Phi Sig, Bri learned to manage her time more effectively and learned how to talk to people in a business manner. Bri says, “The confidence my sisters had/have in me pushed me out of my shell and helped me be more confident in myself and my abilities. Now every time I do something new or want to try and tackle a challenge, I know I have 100+ girls in my corner cheering me on, but who will also be there to catch me if I fall.” In the next year Bri hopes to use her position in Her Campus to extend our staff and make a bigger name for us on campus.
Keep up the good work Bri!
