1. Angelika Film Center
Located in 18 W. Houston St. at Mercer St. is the Angelika Film Center. It is popular for featuring independent and foreign films. It opened in 1989 in NOHO and is a movie theater chain that has cinemas in Washington D.C, San Diego, Fairfax County, two in Texas; one in Plano and Dallas. It also has a great gourmet cafe as well.

2. Quad Cinema
This cinema is located right on The New School campus on 34 West 13th Street in Greenwich Village. It was opened to the public on October 18, 1972, and it is actually the first cinema to claim multiple screens to project for its audience.

3. Cinema Village
Cinema Village is the longest running theater in Greenwich Village; it was built in 1963 showcasing vintage classics, contemporary, and critical cult films. Â

4. IFC Center
Located in 323 6th Ave is IFC Center, which is an art house theater in Greenwich Village, as well. It features extravagant seating, weekend classics, cult films on midnights of Fridays and Saturdays playing. This location also sells organic popcorn made with natural butter!
