5 Different Types of Study Music to Get You Through Finals

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New School chapter.

If you’re like me, then you love to listen to music as you study. I am not one that can focus with catchy popular hits because then I won’t be able to get any work done. However, with a soft melodic beat, a hair tie, and a cup of coffee, any task can get completed sans distractions. Whenever I study, especially during finals season, the Spotify “Focus” playlists helps me concentrate and increase my productivity.

But for those of you who don’t listen to the playlists or who don’t have Spotify, here are several types of study music to help you get through finals:

Calm Acoustic Guitar Tunes

Zone out the world as your escape with the sounds of the strumming of a sweet acoustic guitar.

Soft Jazz

With the power of a saxophone, piano, bass and trumpet blending together, you’ll be up for any study challenge.

Instrumental Atmospheric Rock

With the touch of natural elements, you’ll be surprised with how much work you can get done in an hour.

Mellow Hip-Hop Instrumentals

Just be prepared to start bobbing your head and tapping your feet in tune with the beat.

Electronic Tracks

This type of music is what personally always works best for me when I need to focus. The Spotify “Study Vibes” playlist is great, it keeps me awake and entertained without getting me too excited. Just what I need.
