This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New School chapter.

We want to make sure your fourth is lit. Here’s a few ideas:

See Tiësto Perform at The HRBR Project on Governors Island

Grammy Award-winning DJ/producer Tiësto will perform at the HRBR Project on Governors Island on Tuesday, July 4. Party like a Rockstar with a perfect view of the city’s skyline from 4 p.m. – midnight.

Head to Surf City Beach Bar to Watch the Fireworks over Liberty State Park

Surf City (located at 1 Marin Blvd in Jersey City) will have a spectacular view of Liberty State Park’s fireworks with a background view of the Manhattan skyline. Sip on frozen cocktails and indulge in some of the best seafood west of the Hudson.  Admission is free.

Ladies’ Night at Bagatelle

On July 5, enjoy complimentary wine and bubbles for ladies’ night at Bagatelle (located at 1 Little West 12th St).

Bagatelle’s monthly Pour Elle Ladies Night hosted by Bella will take place Wednesday, July 5th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The night will feature complimentary wine and champagne along with a variety of female-owned businesses on-hand selling unique jewelry, handbags, and shoes.

Bagatelle is also hosting a French soiree (Allons Enfants de la Partie) on Friday, July 14th from 5 p.m. until 1 a.m. Celebrate Bastille Day with classic French specials and live entertainment by Stan Courtois.

Head to an Underground Omakase at Sushi by Boū

Starting Monday July 10th, you can try a 30-minute-omakase at Sushi by Boū at their brand new underground location beneath The Sanctuary Hotel (located at 132 W 47th St) or in Gansevoort Market (located at 353 W 14th St).

Katch Astoria opens Outdoor Speakeasy

Katch Astoria (located at 31-19 Newton Ave) will open their backyard speakeasy once a week on Thursday nights during the summer months beginning on July 13th, all thanks to new owner Bill McSorley. The outdoor space will come complete with a retro cocktail list of classics along with black and white films playing on the flat-screens, so you can feel like a real Buchanan.
