Are you in college and staying in the city for the Summer? Are you looking for experience in the fashion industry at a young age? Below are a few fashion internships located in New York City for the Summer. 

Balenciaga Summer 2023 Visual Merchandising Intern

If you are looking for a part-time internship where you can use your Adobe creative skills, Balenciaga’s visual merchandising internship might be right for you. In order to apply for this internship you need knowledge of current visual merchandising trends and the best practices. This can be a working knowledge of information, not knowledge you need a degree for. You need to be organized, have good time management skills, be excellent at communication and be detail-oriented. 

If you apply for this position, be aware that you will be responsible for in-store, visual updates with the Visual Director following brand guidelines and working with the Visual Director on regional projects. You are responsible for supporting the visual needs of wholesale and retail. And finally, you will be responsible for visual simulations for upcoming launches.

Anna Sui Interns – Summer 2023

If you are looking for a part-time or full-time internship where you can use your extensive knowledge of garment construction, sewing skills, patterns, Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office, then the Anna Sui internship might be right for you.  

There are five different departments you can apply to within the internship: Showroom Sales/E-commerce Store, Design, Sample Room/Pattern Intern, Production Intern and Graphic Design-Ecommerce. All detailed information will be provided on the application website. 

However, for all internships, you are required to be at least 18 years old and be residing in or near New York City during the internship duration. Non-US residents need to provide proof of J-1 or F-1 VISA. You must be fluent in English with a positive attitude and a good work ethic.

Fashion Intern Design Internship/Shadowing: The Tailory New York

If you are looking for a full-time internship where you can continue your fashion design education with hands-on experience then The Tailory New York might be the right internship for you. In order to apply you need to be currently going for your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fashion design or any other related field. You need to have good hand-sketching skills and basic knowledge of garment construction. You need a good sense of high fashion and anticipation of clients’ needs. You need outstanding written and verbal communication skills and you need to be organized, motivated and a team player. You need strong computer skills in Excel, Photoshop and Illustrator software. You need an entrepreneurial spirit with the willingness to go the extra mile. 

If you apply for this position be aware that you will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, team projects, events, fashion shows and photoshoots. You will be responsible for communicating with businesses in the garment district. You will be responsible for general support in multiple day-to-day business areas.

Giorgio Armani Internship Network Program Summer 2023

If you are interested in a full-time internship where you can gain experience in the fashion business then the Giorgio Armani internship might be right for you. In order to apply you need to be currently enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate program and you will need to show proof of school credit. You must be able to work a minimum of five days in the office. You need to demonstrate an interest in business goals and organizational goals. You should have the desire to learn about Armani. You need strong written and verbal communication. You need attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. You also need experience in Microsoft Office.

If you apply for this position be aware that you will be learning the foundations of the brand and culture. Be prepared to take action and anticipate the needs of supervisors and clients.
