Horoscope Reading: What’s Ahead for You this Holiday Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at New School chapter.

The holidays, while wonderful and delicious, can be a difficult time for some. Past the holiday feasts, being in a room filled with your loved ones (and not-so-loved ones) can bring some difficulties. If you’re feeling anxious about the holiday season, have no fear, your favorite astro-columnists are here to give you advice!

Aquarius

Everything good, Aquarius? Everything’s good. If you have the option, go out of town for the holidays. Meet up with friends and family. You will notice people around you struggling to communicate or having tough disagreements. Your presence will be very valuable. Try to mediate conversations between your loved ones and be the example of peace and calmness!

Pisces

Stay calm before the holidays. Be careful of the feelings you have before even arriving to a particular event. If you’re getting together with family, you may find yourself entering the space already holding a grudge. You don’t keep quiet. If you have to say something, you will. So be extra cautious during the holiday. While you may be feeling emotional and have little control of what you say, think twice before saying something that may hurt a friend or family member.

Aries

Aries, this is the time to take to the spotlight. You’re surrounded by people who love you and will actually pass you the mic to speak. Being around all these creative and supportive influences and peers will help you get over that creative block you’ve been in. Try to listen to the people around the table and I mean, truly listen, Aries. You never know when inspiration can strike!

Taurus

You might get a little aggravated with the interrogative nature of your friends and relatives. “Are you seeing anyone?” “What’s your major again?” “You’re doing what with your savings?” Your hard-headed nature may make it seem like any semblance of joy, relaxation, or happiness is impossible this season, but remember that your situation is temporary. You never know, that old uncle you’ve always liked may actually offer helpful advice, so keep your cool and indulge in some holiday food when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

Gemini

Feeling like you’re at a loss for words, Gemini? This might be because of Mercury Retrograde, but not to worry, when one door closes another one opens, literally. You might be feeling like you can’t exactly articulate what it is you’re trying to say, so find your way around it. Seek out other ways to express your concerns, objections, and likes this season. This silence is temporary, however, while in your solitude you may stumble across a great idea or two.

Leo

Alright, Leo. Your mantra for the season is: think before you speak (or act, or move, or dance, or do anything really). Your natural flair for the dramatic may cause you to overstep a boundary or two, and as much as you want to instigate something this season, now is not the time. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Remember that this is a shared holiday and when it’s time to take a step back and listen to your cousin’s story about their triumphs, rather than wanting all the spotlight.

Virgo

Step away from stargazing and pondering the poetic nature of falling snow or rain for a minute, Virgo, and immerse yourself in some conversation. Remember that things won’t always go as planned and that it’s okay that your break isn’t going as imagined. Don’t be disappointed or discouraged by minor setbacks over the next week, try to focus on the positive.

Libra

As much as you hate personal conversations in front of a lot of people, remember what’s at stake, Libra. You don’t want to tick off any family members, especially when they might have some sage advice to offer. Open up your perspective and mind, Libra. Listen to your gut, because you never know who will help you in your time of need.

Scorpio

Hope Scorpio season was glorious for you, Scorpio! It’s time to dive deep within to find parts of yourself that need healing. Mercury, the planet of communication, started going retrograde. You will notice challenges when it comes to communication. During the holiday, you may feel misunderstood. Don’t let anyone get the best of you just because they don’t understand the magic that’s inside. Be cautious about what comes out of your mouth!

Sagittarius

During the holidays you will be engaged in multiple conversations, you have to face them. But protect yourself. You may receive baggage that is not yours, and that will affect you negatively. Practice listening and observing. Notice who has your best interest at heart. Words say a lot, but the ones we don’t hear are the loudest! Despite the situation, you always have the ability to put on a smile and decide for yourself whether you will be brought down or not!

Capricorn

These days you will feel uncomprehended. You feel as if no one understands what you’re saying, what goes through your mind, or what you’re feeling. I know you don’t like to, but in order to communicate properly during this Mercury retrograde you will have to speak up more about your emotions and feelings. It’s not a good time to keep everything store inside. So during the holiday, open up, no matter how difficult and “not you” it may seem. Open up to your friends, family. You will feel better once you’re comprehended.
