4. ARTECHOUSE
Try this immersive experience driven by data from various artists. The exhibit revolves around programming to create jaw-dropping creations of art. There are two areas to explore: House of Fuse or Life of a Neuron with tickets for about $25.
“Jean-Michel Basquiat: King Pleasure” opens on April 9 featuring 200 pieces of art inside the Starrett-Lehigh Building in Chelsea. Tickets range from $32 for students on weekdays and $42 on weekends.
Big fan of Star Wars? Well, this is definitely the experience you can’t miss. The exhibit features over 600 official items from Star Wars including more than 50 one-of-a-kind sculptures, armor, lightsabers, blasters, helmets, masks and more. The exhibition will be held at 526 Sixth Avenue with tickets costing $22 for students.
The Air by Kenzo Digital creates mind-bending art with a 1000-foot high canvas in the Summit. The experience is not only interactive but playful, allowing you to connect physically to the space. Tickets sell for about $39 depending on the variety of ticket types you get.
For $25 you can view works from Picasso to the largest collection of Kandinskys in the United States. The building itself is a work of art and became a National Historic Landmark in 2015. The pieces play perfectly in the Guggenheim’s structure and are a must-see at least once in your life.
The famous park overlooks the Hudson River and is home to the Met’s medieval art and architecture collections. Aside from the art, the grounds contain a peaceful castle dating back to less than 100 years ago. Tickets range from $12 to $25 depending on the dates.
10. Catacombs
A 90-minute walking tour that takes you into the private areas of the Basilica of St. Patrickā€™s Old Cathedral on Fifth Avenue. Tickets are about $37 per person.
