Feeling pensive and a little gloomy? Go to Central Park and rent a boat! Paddle around for an hour and feel like the heroine of your very own atmospheric novel. Afterwords, stop over at Modern Bread and Bagel and get yourself a delicious gluten free and kosher bagel. Maybe even visit the Strand satellite at Columbus Avenue for a copy of Wuthering Heights.Â

If you’re looking for a relaxing day away from the city, take the boat to visit Governor’s Island before it closes at the end of October. Wander around to take a peek at all the abandoned buildings, including houses, a church, a hospital, and more. Rent a bike or read on a hammock in Hammock Grove. Grab a taco or some fries from Taco Vista. Come on a Saturday or Sunday before noon, and your ticket will be completely free!Â

Isn’t it obvious? Have a Ghostbusters movie night! First, take a trip down to Tribecca to visit Hook and Ladder Company 8 at 14 North Moore Street, otherwise known as the original filming location for Ghostbusters’ headquarters.
