If you are new to the Niagara University or to the WNY region in general, you might not know how pumped us natives get for the Polar Plunge every year. “What is the Polar Plunge?” is a question you might be asking right now, but don’t worry! We have the answer. The Polar Plunge is an event that occurs every December in the dead of winter where people plunge into the icy waters in order to raise proceeds to support the Special Olympics. A charity that is not only close to Rochestarians and Buffalonians alike, but it’s also close to us Niagara Students as well since many of our clubs and sororities openly support the Special Olympics. If you would like to partake in this event, please click here to register.
Running into freezing waters not your thing? No worries! Niagara University is proudly holding the “Rundead Zombie 5k” which will be held at Niagara University on October 25th at 4 pm near the Kiernan Center in order to benefit the Special Olympics. So how does the “Rundead Zombie 5k” work? Simple, people who run the 5k are chased by zombies and the objective is to not let those zombies snag the flags that are attached to your waste! Whether you want to be the one chasing, the one running, or the one watching it’s sure to be a good time for everyone in support of a great cause that is so dear to all of us students. See you there!
