Nothing is more delightful than a warm drink and the company of friends in the fall. However, during COVID many of us have been unable to see our friends and family in these hard times. Though nothing says that we can’t still enjoy that warm drink, and perhaps a night of self-care. The following six drinks are perfect for that day when you just want to treat yourself right. Fair warning though, they do require a little bit of preparation. The link to all the recipes can be accessed by clicking their names!
This drink is perfect during an autumn-themed party or a Thanksgiving party that requires drinks for all sorts of people, of varying ages. Since it contains no alcohol, don’t be afraid to serve this to your underage friends or even a younger sibling. The refreshing notes of black tea, pomegranate juice, and orange juice are sure to add spice to any evening! Be sure to add fruits; any will do as when the liquid is all done, this can certainly become a tasty treat!
2. Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate
This white chocolate drink is a different take on your typical hot chocolate, as it’s not packaged, and completely homemade. With a combination of skim milk, heavy cream, white chocolate chips, and pumpkin spice, this hot chocolate is sure to knock your socks off with its creamy chocolate-ness. Personally, this is my favorite on this list! Don’t forget the whipped cream to top it all off, as it’s simply not complete without it!
Despite the name of this drink, no actual candy corn is blended into the drink. I’m personally not a fan of pineapple or too much sugar, but for all those extra-sweet tooth’s out there, this drink contains pineapple, pineapple juice, and orange soda. The orange soda can however be replaced with orange juice for those of you who want a less sweet option.
4. Chai Latte
This is probably the most intensive drink on this list, mainly in part due to the preparation needed to make it. It’s produced with traditional masala chai ingredients like cinnamon, cardamom, and fennel seed. In combination with the other ingredients in the recipe, this milky, Indian spiced drink is perfect if you desire something other than traditional English tea.
Moon milk in its simplest variety can consist of milk, sugar, and honey, however, this particular one that I have linked requires a bit more than that. It is not difficult to make and can be an interesting choice if you are spiritual, as it places its roots in “Ayurveda”, which means knowledge of life in Sanskrit. This type of drink is the best right before bed to help with sleeplessness and anxiety. So for those of you out there with Seasonal Affective Disorder, this may help; regardless it’s a delicious tasting drink!
According to someone I know, who has tried this drink, it’s really good. I’m going to go ahead and say that you should try it because it does include Earl Grey Tea, which is so good. Some of its ingredients include Earl Grey Tea, steamed milk, lavender, and vanilla. Sounds harmless right? I think so as well. I actually will be making this sometime soon myself, because I’m a huge fan of English teas, and this sounds like an interesting spin on something pretty basic and staple. Makes me wonder what it tastes like coming from Great Britain itself…
