As huskies we’ve always known that we are awesome and the time has finally come to rub it in everyone’s faces. People refer to us as a school for underdogs but that has been our secret to success. While others school strive to maintain their standards, Northeastern has steadily been expanding and investing for the future.
Since 2001 we have moved up 101 spots in the college ranks (US News and World Report) and in 2001 we broke into the top 100. Since I was a freshman (shout out to the 114th entering class) we’ve gone from #69 to #49 in just four years!
Northeastern received over 47,000 applications for just 2,800 seats in the fall freshman class of 2013. This makes us one of the most applied to private universities in the country. The caliber of the freshman is intimidating when the average GPA is 3.8 compared to other schools in the Boston area (#suckitBU) where it is only 3.5.
No story on Northeastern would be complete without bragging about our co-op program. Did I mention that we’re also ranked us #1 for “Best Internships/Career Services (Princeton Review) AND #1 for Best Co-ops/Internships (US News and World Report)? Ask a northeastern student and they’re tell you their goal is to graduate with a job. Luckily for huskies 9/10 students are employed within nine months of graduating, and 50% of those offers come from past co-op employerss
