My favorite thing about Northeastern:
Definitely the co-op program. The fact that the school manages to generate graduates with professional work experience, contacts, and a decent idea of how to function in the adult world, I feel really sets us apart as a university. If you attended Northeastern, you finish up a step ahead in the job search and that’s something that is really valuable to me as graduation begins to loom closer and closer.
Where I can be found on a Saturday night:
Probably in my own or a friend’s apartment, maybe a bar downtown if I’m feeling adventurous. Anywhere with good people and a strong possibility of interesting conversation sounds like my kind of place.
Where I would take a girl on a first date:
Somewhere talking is possible. I’m not much of a dinner and a movie guy, and if I’m just meeting someone, I feel like coffee or a scenic walk provides a better opportunity to really get to know the person I’m taking out.
What I look for in a girl:
Confidence and happiness. People who like themselves are easy to like. I also appreciate a heaping portion of dry wit.
My role model:
My father. I know it’s a common answer, but the things the man did and does with no hope or interest in repayment are amazing.
Where I’ll be in five years:
I have no idea. Hopefully some kind of space cowboy/rock star. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll be happy as long as I’m somewhere I can talk to people and solve problems. I like solving problems… a lot.
My favorite spot in Boston:
Either any deck or roof with a decent view of the Prudential building, or the wharfs down by the harbor near South Station.
My favorite spot in the world:
Crane’s Beach in Ipswich, Mass. It’s the best place in the world to spend a summer afternoon or evening.
My celebrity look-a-like:
I wish it was John Stamos, but I hear Luke Wilson a lot more frequently.
An interesting fact:
The lights at the top of the Prudential building do NOT indicate the weather. When people say this, they are in fact thinking of the Berkeley building, or the old John Hancock Building.
My favorite part of Fall:
The week between warm summer and cold fall when it’s just becoming a borderline call to leave your window open at night. I love when it’s a little bit chilly; the air just feels a little cleaner for some reason.
Five things that a Northeastern student should have on their Boston bucket list:
- Take a long walk in the city at 3a.m., this is America’s walking city after all
- Attend a party with an open roof (and don’t fall off)
- Visit your freshman dorm as a senior and survive the subsequent attack of nostalgia
- Write a song and sing it to someone you don’t know
- See a game at Fenway
