1. A is for Aria
Reasons why it might be true:
- A’s initial text (“I’m back bitches”) coincides with Aria’s return from Iceland.
- We all know Aria is good at hiding things (see her relationship with Ezra).
- She never seems to be as affected by A as the other liars.
- She’s been seen a few times using things that we then see A using (tape, the same magazine, etc.)
- Mrs. Grunwald says that Ali hasn’t approached the girls because she doesn’t trust them yet.
- Her “shhh” motion in the title sequence is pretty suspicious when you think about it.
- Additional reasons
2. Ezra is “Board Shorts”
Reasons why it might be true:
- He went to Hollis.
- He likes younger girls (see his relationship with Aria).
- He starts teaching at Rosewood right when A starts sending messages to the liars.
- He went to Ali’s funeral even though he “didn’t know her.”
- He owns a typewriter and many of A’s messages are written on a typewriter.
- Alison could’ve been the girl who was pregnant that his mother “paid to disappear”.
- We know he’s on the A-Team because of last season’s finale.
Additional reasons
3. Aria and Ezra are A Together
Reasons why it might be true:
- They’re very sneaky when they’re together.
- Marlene King (PLL showrunner) didn’t deny it when asked recently by Entertainment Weekly.
- Ezra told Aria in the first season, “You know there isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for you.”
4. Wren is “Board Shorts”
Reasons why it might be true:
- In a flashback scene from the second season, Ali claims to “know a doctor”.
- Like EzrA, he also likes younger girls (see Hanna and Spencer).
- Wren is in the pilot episode and show producers have said A is seen in the pilot.
- He has become increasingly creepier each season.
- Additional reasons
5. Jason saw Ali (not CeCe) the night she disappeared
Reasons why it might be true:
- During this year’s Halloween episode, we found out that Ali is still alive! While this revelation is beyond exciting for fans, it also throws a huge curveball at PLL theorists and their many theories. One of the main ones being Jason’s memory of the night Ali disappeared.
- At this point, Jason believes that he saw CeCe and Melissa having a heated discussion on the night of Ali’s disappearance. However, Marlene King has stated before that flashbacks are entirely dependent on the memory of the person who is having the flashback. In this case, Jason was crazy drunk, so he might not have the best memory of who he actually saw. And now that we know Ali didn’t die that night, many PLL fans are starting to think he could’ve actually seen Ali that night, not CeCe.
- This new information would completely rearrange the sequence of events that happened the night Ali disappeared and even more importantly brings up the next question: why was Ali talking to Melissa on the night she disappeared?
6. Ali has a twin
Reasons why it might be true:
- In a flashback scene from Season 2, Ali tells a boy she is babysitting a story about a twin who stabs his other twin and then gets sent to an insane asylum. A very random story to tell a young boy.
- It would explain her bipolar behavior with her “friends”.
- While the show doesn’t directly follow the books, there are many similar elements and this might be another one of them.
- There are many twin references hidden in the show.
7. CeCe had a twin (and killed her)
Reasons why it might be true:
- The showrunners have said in the past that the Ali twin plot does not exist in the television series, but they have never said a twin plot doesn’t exist. In addition, twin references have flooded the television show since the first season.
- This might explain the story of the killer twin that Ali told the boy she was babysitting (the story could’ve been about CeCe).
- It would explain how Ali and CeCe are “obsessed with each other” in certain flashbacks and hate each other in others.
- Also, if this is true then perhaps Jason saw CeCe’s twin the night Ali disappeared and that is why she didn’t look 100% like CeCe.
