You know those mornings when you wake up and it’s so gloomy outside you think its still night? Well, Tuesday was one of those days. The sleet and snow just made it absolutely miserable outside, and I think most Bostonians would agree that there was little motivation to get up for school or work. It’s hard to believe that it is now officially Spring.
Yet, communications/political science major, Amanda Schwartz welcomes the disgusting weather as an opportunity to wear one of her favorite outfits. Although the colors of her outfit may match the grey skies, it is definitely not drab.
Amanda calls it her “rainy day” outfit, because it’s comfortable, cute, and easy to pair with her warmest tights and rain boots. The simple dress is easy for those rainy days because it requires minimal effort for it to look good. The silhouette is simple but draws your attention upward to the most important part of an outfit, your face.
The back of the dress; however, is Amanda’s favorite part. When she finally gets inside after trekking through the cold, and takes off her jacket, she reveals the sexy and interesting design on the back of the dress. The subtle amount of skin and unique shape elevates the overall style of the dress and creates a surprise factor when she turns around.
Amanda pairs the dress with sleek black rain boots, a must for Boston in the sleet. She ties her hair back in a neat, yet messy bun to keep it together in the rain, and finishes the look with a pair of fun dangly earrings.
Amanda describes her style as bohemian simple. Her fashion inspiration is Kate Moss.
