And other days it’s so unseasonably warm that you sweat buckets.
Carrying your overstuffed backpack feels equivalent to lugging around a small child all day.
The walk home breaks you (and you can’t even count it as exercise).
No more RAs means no more free food magically appearing in your lobby.
Your home Wi-Fi is such a pathetic excuse for a network that you begin to appreciate NUwave.
Your crappy front door will never make you feel as secure as those high-tech locks on NU dorm doors…
Especially when your lock just stops working one day.
You submit so many maintenance requests that you start to work words like “strikeplate” into everyday conversations…
But first you send your landlord an email asking him to fix the “metal door lock thingy.”
You’ve never met your neighbors, but from what you’ve heard they enjoy rearranging furniture at odd hours.
You can’t open your blinds (unless you want to put on a free show for your neighbors).
One day after deciding not to renew your lease, you have an endless stream of strangers coming to view your place.
But as much as you may hate it, you know saying goodbye to the Hill will be bittersweet.
