     Northeastern’s long-awaited Springfest concert, hosted by the Council for University Programs (CUP) is coming up on Saturday, April 5, and will feature a wide range of talents. From the motivational Sara Bareilles to the earnest Cold War Kids to the indescribable Snoop Dogg, NU.F.O. Springfest Concert 2014 has something for everyone. Below is Her Campus Northeastern’s guide to the featured Springfest musicians, with just a few of the songs you need to know all the lyrics to before doors open at 5:00p.m. Saturday. So get to it, collegiettes, and see you at the concert!

    Snoop Dogg, born Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr. is a rapper, singer-songwriter, and actor who has worked under three different stage names: Snoop Doggy Dog, Snoop Dogg and Snoop Lion. His rap career began in the 1990s, when his first album, Doggystyle, first reached #1 on Billboard’s Hip Hop and Top 200 charts. His most recent achievement in music was a reggae album, Reincarnated, which was released in 2013 along with a documentary of the same title and which represented his conversion to the Rastafari movement. He is currently at work on his final studio album, which will be released under his common rap title Snoop Dogg.

    Sara Bareilles is a singer-songwriter, musician and pianist whose first hit single, “Love Song,” brought her stardom when it reached #1 on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. Since then, Bareilles has been nominated for five Grammy awards and has sold over one million records. Her most recent album, The Blessed Unrest, was released in July of 2013 and sold more than 65,000 copies within its first week of release. Bareilles has also been featured as a guest judge on NBC’s The Sing Off.

[pagebreak]    Cold War Kids is an American indie rock band that currently features members Nathan Willett, Dann Gallucci, Matt Maust, and Matt Aveiro. Their first album, Robbers and Cowards, was released in 2006. The band has toured both nationally and worldwide and currently resides in Long Beach, California. Their latest album, Dear Miss Lonelyhearts, came out last year and included the new single “Miracle Mile,” which was featured in the NBC series Camp.
