5 Best Christmas Albums Guaranteed to Bring the Holiday Cheer

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Northwestern chapter.

It is almost December and that means one things: Christmas Music. Here are our takes on the best of the best!

1.     Songs for Christmas by Sufjan Stevens (2006)

A quiet night indoors calls for some Sufjan Stevens. His unique, indie voice is like nothing on the Christmas radio waves. Listen to “Silent Night” while reading a book in front of a fire (or a fake fire on your laptop).

2.     A She and Him Christmas by She and Him (2011)

Nothing is quirkier than this Christmas Album. With Zooey Deschanel involved, you know the songs will exude cuteness.  Listen to this album while ice skating with your significant other, or while taking a stroll through the Zoo Lights at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

3.     Christmas by Michael Bublé  (2011)

Michael Bublé creates bubbles in your heart. His deep, soulful voice takes you back to a favorite childhood Christmas. Making gingerbread with your friends while blasting Bublé is a combination for cheer.

4.     Merry Christmas by Bing Crosby (1945)

If you think of a Christmas classic, Bing Crosby should be the first artist that jumps into your mind. If you are in the mood of quintessential, upbeat holiday tunes, turn on some Bing.

5.     Elvis’ Christmas Album by Elvis Presley (1957)

From the fat Elvis sandwich to the perfect hair, Elvis Presley can do no wrong.   His Christmas album deserves a place in any coffee shop. Sipping a warm peppermint mocha with Elvis’ “Blue Christmas” purring in your ear is the epitome of Christmas.Â
