As a proud Midwesterner, fall just isn’t fall without a trip to the pumpkin patch, a haunted house, and a good cup of cider. Luckily for me (and all of you), Chi Town has its fair share of fall festivities.
Pumpkin Patches
Skip the trip to the suburbs and get your pumpkins downtown instead. The Chicago Park District will be bringing in pumpkins to six different parks on the north side of the city each weekend until the end of the month.
13 Terrors Haunted House
There’s no better way to bond with your friends – or boyfriend– than sheer fear. Get a good old fashioned Halloween scaring at Theatre on the Lake’s haunted house.
Pumpkins in the Park 5K
Enjoy the changing leaves and the crisp fall air with Chicago’s official Halloween race. Hang around Lincoln Park after the race for Goose Island food and drink, a showing of “Ghostbusters” and of courses, a costume contest.
Northalsted Halloween Parade
What better place to show off your creative costuming skills than Chicago’s favorite nightclub district? Join the 16th annual Northalsted Halloween Parade on All Hallow’s Eve.

Franken Plaza
For three days, one of Chicago’s most beloved destinations goes frighteningly fall. From October 26-30, Daley Plaza becomes the center of all things Halloween, including movies, costume contests and live entertainment.
Seadog Haunted Tours
Take one of Chicago’s classic architecture tours, add a dash of spook and you’ll get a Seadog Haunted boat tour. Departing from Navy Pier, your ghoulish guides will give you a nighttime tour of the city, highlighting Chicago’s supernatural sites and eerie occurrences.
