Major: American Studies, officially, but I’m open to other options should they present themselves. I like majors that are really up-front and willing to get to know me. A lot of confidence about themselves, that’s what I find attractive about a major. And American Studies just kind of jumped off the page, so you could say that I’m taken….with American Studies.
Age: 21, Sophomore
Hometown: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Relationship Status: Single, and ready to mingle with non-mingler.
Likes: I like a casual drink. I enjoy watching movies with my roommate, lounging in my spacious and luxurious apartment, the Man Shack. I enjoy athletic, non-competitive, casual activity such as IM sports. My favorite IM sport is floor hockey. I also enjoy frisbee, and boxing, which I started fall of last year. I enjoy driving and taking long walks, not as much on the beach, if you’re not wearing shoes and you’re walking on the beach it can be quite uncomfortable. But walks in cities or in mountains or state parks; it soothes the mind, calms me down.
Pet Peeves/Dislikes: I dislike excessive mingling. I don’t enjoy being out of bread. I don’t enjoy dull, monotonous work. I dislike the movie History of Violence, and the movie The Jewel. I dislike modern Italian film. I dislike electronic music. I dislike flat-brimmed hats. I don’t like automatic cars. I’m looking for a manual. I hate painting, painting blows. Have you ever had to paint all day long? I have no ability at artistic painting.
Involvement on campus: I am by name and title the IM sports director of Chapin Residential College. But I have led us to a single win, of no influence of my own, and three losses this year alone. I also was a part of the boxing team. I do Habitat for Humanity. I enjoy going on builds and talking to the real workers and being given a real task; being a real man.
Future: No idea, just a big question mark. So ladies you have a chance to sway my course of direction.
Words that he lives by: “No work, no worries.” My mom always said, “If you can’t do it right Jack, fake it.”
Perfect date: A nice dinner at a pretty fancy restaurant, or I’d cook in. And then a walk, she’d have to enjoy walking; there’d be a lot of walking involved if you dated me. And then coming home and lying on the couch watching a movie, something with Keira Knightley, probably Pride and Prejudice or Atonement.
What do you find attractive in a girl: Someone who can get my personality and sense of humor. Someone easygoing and fun. A girl who doesn’t put up with your shit, kind of gives it right back to you, that’s good. Someone with good hair, like long, flowy hair. Cute or pretty, hot doesn’t really do it for me. And someone who’s a little quirky.
Describe your own personality: I’m down–to-earth. If I care about you there isn’t much I wouldn’t do. I’m a hard worker and I don’t let people down.
Are you a girlfriend type of guy: I’d prefer to be a girlfriend kind of guy. But right now I’m just kind of looking for a good friendship kind of thing……with some benefits. I’m a girlfriend kind of guy looking for the right girl, that’s more accurate.
Most romantic thing he’s done for a girl: I guess flying home for a girl’s senior prom when I was in New Orleans, it was super important to her and she wasn’t really expecting it. We just had a fantastic night and we went out to dinner. I’ve done gimmicky kind of things which were nice, but this was just a great time.
Why HC loves Jack: With his adorable floppy blonde hair and slight southern accent Jack Foster is not only a cutie but his off-beat sense of humor and devotion to his friends make him a great guy to have on your side, either as a friend or something more.
