What are you looking forward to as an anchor and producer of NNN?
I have actually been anchoring for NNN since I was a sophomore, and I was the News Director this past quarter. I will be continuing in both roles for the fall. One of my favorite things about news directing is having the opportunity to teach new broadcast journalists. That’s why I am so thrilled to be serving in this role for the fall, so I can introduce new students to NNN. And of course I can’t wait to spend more time with the current NNN crew, who are all absolutely phenomenal.Â
Â
How long have you worked on NNN?
I’ve been with NNN since the first week I set foot on this campus, and I can’t believe that means I’ve been at it for three years now.Â
Â
What is the best part of NNN?
What I love most about NNN is having the opportunity to create a concrete, creative product each week with people I love. It’s really amazing to be able to go online and say, “Hey, I made this newscast.” We all work really well together, and everyone genuinely cares about the product they’re producing. Of course I also love NNN because it gives me the chance to report. When I’m out reporting, I really enjoy meeting new people and having the chance to tell their stories. That’s why the profession is so amazing; you get to do something different every single day.Â

Would you like to broadcast or produce as a career? What are your future goals?
When I graduate, I hope to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. What I’m most passionate about is political and social justice reporting, so I’m also considering going to law school to specialize in that. Eventually I would love to be a Capitol Hill correspondent for a national network.Â
Â
What else are you involved in on campus?
One of my other greatest loves is theatre, so I have performed in several shows here. I’m also a tour guide and former peer adviser, but I’m probably most passionate about my sorority, Alpha Phi, which has definitely become a home for me over the past few years. My sisters have been my biggest support in all journalistic endeavors. There’s nothing better than coming home after a broadcast and having people come up to me and say that they watched it. My Aphi fan club truly helps me to believe in myself.
