Last week HC Northwestern staff writer Elana Golub wrote about some awesome goals for Spring Quarter. The first one was to go into Chicago more – and I couldn’t agree more! Here’s some fun things to do into Chicago this spring before you head back home for the summer!
1. Fun Concerts
Now that the weather is warmer, put on your cutest concert apparel and get ready to have fun! Paramore is playing at the Rosemont Theatre May 3, with Jessie J playing at the House of Blues in Chicago May 9. Relieve some pre-finals stress June 6 at the Riviera Theatre with The Script.
2. Life in Color Chicago
Speaking of music…it’s not too late to buy a ticket to Life in Color Chicago, coming to Donald E. Stephenson Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. Tag-lined as the “World’s Largest Paint Party”, it’s a music festival that features EDM music and a lot of color. Make sure to wear white.
3. Run for Charity
The United Run for the Zoo, which benefits the Lincoln Park Zoo to ensure its free admission. A 5K run/walk and 10K are available – and you actually get to run through the zoo! Registration is $30 for the 5K, $35 for the 10K.
4. Play Tourist
Most of us are heading back home around the country in June, so now it’s time to play tourist! Take a trip to Navy Pier and ride the Ferris Wheel, play games and go to the fun outdoor restaurants (they open in May!)
5. See Chicago from 1,353 feet above the ground
Last chance to get an artsy Chicago profile picture before you go home: head to 103rd floor of the Willis Tower and pose on the SkyDeck. You’ll feel like you’re on top of the world.Â
Her Campus wishes you a happy, fun, successful (and warm) spring quarter!
