Campus Cutie: Breanna McDonald ’17

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Notre Dame chapter.
Basics:

Breanna McDonald

Year: 2017

Major: Computer Science (Hey hey hey)

Hometown: Redding, California

Dorm: Lewis Hall

Relationship Status: hahahahahahahaa what a joke

Opening Line:  I galloped into a wooded glen, and after punch dancing out my rage and suffering an extremely long and very painful fall, I realized what has to be done.

Getting To Know The Cutie:

Favorite TV Show
Chicago Fire. Hot Men. Literally.

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor
Toasted Coconut, I just had it for the first time an hour ago.

Favorite place on the internet?
Anywhere where I can watch Chicago Fire. Doesn’t necessarily have to be legal. I am a computer science major after all.

If you were a box of cereal, what would you be and why?
Lucky Charms. Because I’m magically delicious.

Coke or Pepsi?
Pepsi

McDonald’s or Burger King?
Gross. I was a vegetarian for nine years and then I came here so I guess it doesn’t really count.

If you could have dinner with a fictional character who would it be and why?
Pooh Bear because he’s jolly.

Celebrity Boyfriend?
Hahahahaha Ryan Gosling holla.

Describe yourself in 3 Words.
Sarcastic. Peppy. C++.
(Author’s note: I’ve been informed C++ is an object-oriented computer language…whatever that means…)

Campus activity(-ies):
I’m an engineering TA for next year.  I’m really excited to prank the Freshmen.

A Little Depth:

You come from an interesting family, let’s talk about it.
My parents do foster care so technically I’ve had over 200 siblings.

What’s one word you would use to describe that kind of upbringing?
Interesting.

Describe your hometown in 5 words.
Good-Water. Fires. Sun. Sundial-Bridge (a bridge that tells time by its shadow, very cool). Loooove.

Do you push the elevator button more than once?  Do you really believe it makes the elevator faster?
Yes and No.

What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?
I need to reset my alarm to two hours from now.

Talk Comp-Sci to me.
A girl got locked out of her computer because it was considering her profile to be a temp so I restarted it in Safe Mode and I changed the value of State and restarted it again and it worked.

Girls are hard to come by in computer science. Why’d you pick it?
Because I happen to have a rare quality of being able to think logically LOL. And I want to get a job.

If you weren’t a computer science major what would want to learn?
How to be a princess.

What one food would you eat for the rest of your life?
My brother’s homemade fettucini alfredo

Love Lines

Worst date ever?
Movie night at my own house. My parents live in my house.

Dream date?
Heh heh. Anything with Ryan Gosling.

One piece of advice for prospective suitors?
Don’t be creepy.

Shallow dealbreaker?
If he’s shorter than me, but I’m 5’1.

The Frosh Files

What’s a non-academic lesson you’ve learned this year?
Charge your phone before you go out…at night

One thing you would tell yourself on your first day of school if you could go back?
Don’t torrent…The government might catch you ;)

Most awkward ND event
Dillon Hall pep rally because I didn’t know when I was supposed to laugh.

ND Bucket List
Climbing Stepan, holla.

Best on-campus event
Oh god. Not Hip-Hop Night. Umm, Muddy Sunday.

Tell us about your domerfest experience
I stayed outside because the air was really thick in Stepan.

Frosh-O
Pshhh. I just remember it was really hot and awkward in the basement of some random North Quad guys dorm and there were poorly worded pick up lines taped to the walls.

Outgoing line?
If I was an enzyme I would want to be DNA helicase so I could unzip your genes. HA HA. Because I actually hate science, chemistry, or biology. All of it.

Thanks, Breanna!
