And the winner is…. WES!Â
After five long weeks of watching and waiting, Notre Dame’s first ever winner of the Irish Bachelorette was crowned (hatted?) on the NDtv orginial last Monday. Wes Terrasse, a junior from outside of Chicago, gained quite a bit of Twitter love, receiving several @NDCrushes and general good vibes. Kirsten seemed to think he was the best of the bunch as well, bestowing him with the honor of a few more weeks together. Although things didn’t work out between the two of them (WHAT?! IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR LOVE IN THE WORLD?!), things still look pretty bright for this Cutie!Â
Year: 2015
Dorm: Siegfried
Major: Science Business
Hometown: Lake Forest, IL
What are you involved in around campus? I’m the Social Concerns Rep. for Siegfried Hall Council. I’m in College Republicans. I do intermurals and I’m on the residence life committee for student government.
Relationship status: Single…
Who are you? I’m a junior from Lake Forest. I have one younger brother. I’m a pretty simple person, laid back relaxed personality. I love watching sports, playing basketball and golf. I’m a very goal-oriented person. Hopefully, I can be a doctor.
What does it mean to be a domer? I think it means understanding how fortunate you are to have graduated from a school like ND, taking advantage of all the opportunities and relationships this has given you, and keeping ND a part of you and close to you no matter where you go.
What is your favorite ND memory so far? Spending the week in Miami for the national championship; it was an awesome experience. The Stanford game last year and storming the field were also great.
What is the #1 item on your ND bucket list? My brother is a senior in high school so spending a year with him in college next year. That would be really awesome.Â
What are the best and worst things about ND? The best is the sense of family, all my friends, and the fact that we’re able to have so many opportunities and people willing to help get us to the next step. The worst is probably North Dining Hall… (What a traitorous Mod-Quad-er)
If you could change one thing about Notre Dame, what would it be? The weather. The winters are terrible but I wouldn’t change the location because it’s so close to home.
What’s the best class you’ve taken at ND? Anthropology with Prof. McKenna or Intro. to Clinical Ethics with Fr. Foster.
What’s your favorite spot on campus? The Grotto. The lake and the grotto are really relaxing and just beautiful.Â
What did you think you were going to do when you came in as a freshman? I’d always had an interest in medicine, but I was still a little bit unsure, I wanted to keep my options open.
Favorite Domer – dead, alive, or fictional? My father
What do you wish ND girls knew? Despite winning the show, I’m still single. What do you wish you knew about ND girls? I know there’s a lot of girls I’ve never met here and at St. Mary’s so maybe I wish I knew the best way to meet them and find out who they are.
If you could go back to freshman year and tell yourself one thing you know now, what would it be? Take advantage of everything – all the clubs and activities and focus more on building relationships with some of my teachers. You never know who they know and you might need them to write you a letter of recommendation.
Ideal academic and professional endgame? Hopefully go to med. school maybe in the Chicago area. Hopefully be a physician of some sort. Stay in the Chicago area.
In 25 years you will be…visiting my kids at ND or getting them ready to apply here.
Tell me a little known fact about you. I might come across as quiet and reserved, but I’m super competitive inside. I have a sarcastic side.Â
Guilty pleasure song/band? Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.
Signature drink? Raspberry lemonade and cherry coke.
Why did you initially audition for the Irish Bachelorette? I kind of got talked into it by one of my girlfriends I hang out with. I was skeptical at first, but I wanted to put myself out there.
What was your reaction to meeting Kirsten for the first time? She was definitely really pretty. She didn’t say much at first, but I definitely got to know her better.
Did you know any of the other guys? I knew Brian Davis a little bit, he lives a floor below me.
How did you feel about the dynamic of the group? I thought it was a really good group. We all got along really well. There was never any hostility. It was a good mix of personalities; it was a good cast for the show.
What were your thoughts on the time you spent with Kirsten? It was all really fun, but pretty awkward. It wasn’t as bad as people make it out to be but any time we had a date or anything we had good conversation. We made the most of the time we had.
On winning: I really had no idea what to expect, like if it was going to be treated seriously or not but I thought I had a chance to win. I never thought about that too much. I just was myself and went with the flow. I never thought about my odds of winning when I first started.
If given another shot at the show, was there anything would you do differently? My pumpkin carving was pretty bad… kind of pathetic. Other than that not really… (He did something right if he won…)
What do you wish you knew going into the show? I liked that it was the first time doing the show and no one knew what was going to happen. That made it exciting and fun. I didn’t think that this many people around campus were going to be watching it and keeping up on it. It was really well put together.
Was it what you expected? For the most part, I’ve watched the original show a few times so I knew the gist of it. NDtv did a really good job putting it together and making a good show out of what we gave them.
What do you anticipate for your love life going forward? I anticipate people recognizing me and knowing who I am now and just having fun with that and embracing it. I’ll probably just be patient… Love will come around when you least expect it. One day, it will work out. It’s been fun.
Was the experience worth it? Yeah, definitely. Getting to know all the guys and getting to know the NDtv crew were great. Getting to know Kirsten and spending a lot of time with her was definitely worthwhile.
Update on relationship Kirsten: We’re not dating, but we’re still good friends. It’s fine.Â
Thanks, Wes!Â

So, there you have it, folks, eleven bachelors still eligible and still floating around campus! I’d pass my number along to any of them!Â
