Unfortunately, that time of year is here again. While we are all itching to be on break, there are a few things we have to finish before we can pack up and head home for the holidays. Finals are quickly approaching, and so is the stress that comes with them. Most people are up studying for hours upon hours, leaving them tired and ready to crawl into bed at the first chance they get. This being said, I know a lot of people that like to take tests while in their “comfy clothes.” However, I find myself testing better when I have one of my favorite outfits on. I like to think that if I dress well, I test well (#NDsolutions). I know it’s cheesy, but it’s one of my exam rituals.
A good exam outfit has many different components. The first being comfort. The last thing you want during a test is to be uncomfortable. Choose an outfit that you know you will be able to sit comfortably in for a long period of time. Along with the material being comfortable, the outfit you choose should help you maintain a comfortable temperature. Unless you’ve tested there before, you never know what your testing room will be like. I, for example, can’t focus on my test when I’m cold. Unfortunately, sometimes testing rooms can be quite warm. This leads to layering.
Nothing says “I’m ready to ace this test” more than a sweater paired with a button down. The addition of the watch is also a nice touch because it allows you to watch the time without frantically searching for a clock in the room. If you have an early morning exam, bright colors will help you feel more awake and energized. Who knows, maybe it will help the people around you too!
Another way to test well is to wear a favorite outfit, or something that makes you happy. Exams are miserable enough, so why not add a little something extra to make them more bearable? I am a lover of sparkle, which is tricky because a little goes a long way. This sweater has just the right amount of bling and it’s placed in such a creative place. With the trend of elbow patches on the rise, this cardigan steps it up a notch by adding sequins.
Something else to take into consideration during this finals season is the snow. Nobody likes walking through it and certainly nobody likes having cold, wet feet. Spare yourself from this misery by avoiding the slushy sidewalks (I wish this was a legitimate option) or by wearing appropriate footwear. While I am new to the Bean Boot trend, I have fallen head over heels in love with my boots. They keep my feet so dry and with the right pair of socks, they are super cozy. Not to mention cute too! Don’t let cold feet keep you from testing your best.
Finally, this outfit screams comfort. The sweater dress looks cozy and warm. Who wouldn’t want to take an exam wearing this comfortable ensemble? The knit tights add extra warmth compared to sheer nylons. They’re like sweaters for your legs! No matter what you decide to wear, be confident, and you’ll rock those exams. Good luck and have an amazing break. You deserve it.
