Halloween is this week, so I thought I’d stick to that for a theme for this interview. What’s the best Halloween costume you’ve ever seen?

The absolute best one that I ever saw was a married couple and the wife was pregnant and the guy was a baker and girl was an oven. They had a bun in the oven.

Favorite Halloween movie, go!

My favorite cheesy Halloween movie is “Hocus Pocus”, because let’s be real here, it’s the best. But my favorite scary movie is “The Shining” just because it can terrify me in a way nothing else can. I get to the part with the woman in the bathtub, and I’m just like “Nope, nope, nope.”

Who is the best horror movie villain?

I think Michael Myers (from Halloween) for sure. He has that weird omnipresence and you can’t kill him. Over the course of, what, like ten movies, nobody manages to kill him, ever. It’s horrible.

What are your greatest fears?

Oh
I don’t know. I’m really afraid of someone watching me and me not being aware of them.

Like stalking you?

Yeah! I just wouldn’t be able to trust being alone ever again.

You might get stalkers after this article. It’s a very real possibility.

That’s kind of awesome, let’s do it.

Alright. What’s your favorite candy?

I love Crunch bars, they’re the best. But my absolute favorite is Dots. I love Dots. And I know that’s such a lame choice.

Because they’re kind of disgusting?

They’re so good! I used to always trade all the “good” candy for the bad candy, because you could get more of it. Dots are the best.

Dots are old people candy. When did you stop trick-or-treating?

I never have stopped trick-or-treating. I probably won’t this year because I can’t really trick-or-treat around the dorms, but I don’t think that there’s an age limit on it. Actually no, if you get to the “having kids” age you shouldn’t go unless you’re going with kids, yours or borrowed. Probably ones you’re related to. Otherwise you should stop.

So, you’re not going trick-or-treating this year, but are you still going to dress up?

I’m debating some costumes right now. I like the really bad pun costumes, they’re especially great if you’re a cheap college student. I really want to get an old computer box that says ‘Dell’ on it and cover it with Adele lyrics and go as “A-delle.”

That’s beautiful.

That’s a “Sawyer Williams original” too.

Did you carve pumpkins this year?

Yes, I carved an abstract pumpkin with the Humor Artists this year. I didn’t know what to do, so they said “freehand it!” So I did, and it was beautiful. It was great.

What’s it like doing Humor Artists?

It’s really fun. It’s kind of scary because I’ve never done improv at a real level before, so I’m constantly in a state of “I don’t know what I’m doing, I hope I’m doing things right.”

Okay, so that should be fun.

Oh! I have a Halloween joke! What’s a ghost’s favorite lunch meat? BOO-logna. Heh. You don’t have to include that.

No, I have to. It’s horrible, but I have to.

Horrible? I think it’s BOO-tiful.

Any closing thoughts? Words of wisdom?

There are two kinds of people in the world, you and every-BOO-dy else.
