Attention Bachelor Nation. You’ve watched countless seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Bachelor Pad, and Bachelor in Paradise, but now the franchise has expanded its horizons. Welcome to The Bachelor Winter Games. You get to see your favorite contestants from recent seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette compete in an array of sporting events alongside contestants from Bachelor International. You might question whether this is actually a good show and if The Bachelor franchise has stretched itself too far, but let me assure you that this is not the case. The Bachelor Winter Games is quite possibly my favorite spin-off yet. You may think it is cheesy at first, especially the opening parade of nations, but do not worry. Once the real show starts, you will not be able to turn it off.
All of your favorites are there. Similar to Bachelor in Paradise, the season’s favorites who were sent home all meet up again for another chance at love. Knowing the personalities of the contestants means we can predict some of the drama that is bound to happen. Ashley I. is there, and there is no doubt she will cry. Infamous cuties such as Dean and Luke are there. Bachelor Winter Games provides another opportunity for us to see our favorite contestants in action once again.
In addition to the Bachelor US members, there are members from Bachelor International as well, from countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, and Japan. Now your favorite contestants have a chance to find love internationally. One of my favorite contestants is Yuki, the only contestant from Japan. She speaks almost no English, making her actions and the words she actually does use very amusing. She definitely adds an extra element of entertainment to the show.
The challenges are also highly entertaining. I think it is safe to say that a vast majority of the contestants on this show have never participated in a winter sport. They all want to win to get that date card, but they also all struggle to get there. Every challenge is basically just everyone falling down, whether on skis, skates, or any other winter platform, so whoever falls the least is essentially the winner. Watching people fall is highly entertaining on its own, so watching your favorite TV personalities do it adds an extra element that will make you love this show.
The drama is better than ever. No Bachelor TV show would be complete without the drama. A bunch of beautiful people in one house looking for love is bound to cause some tears and some tension. Between couples forming and falling apart, people looking for connections, and competition for suitors, there is almost never a calm moment. It’s fantastic.
Overall, The Bachelor Winter Games is the best Bachelor spin-off yet. If you want to witness beautiful people from all over the world poorly attempt to participate in sports but successfully find love with each other, then this is definitely the show for you. The Bachelor has officially outdone itself.
