There’s no doubt about it – May is an awful month. Until you graduate and leave education for good, May will always be the bane of your life. Endless hours of pouring over powerpoints, highlighting notes that you do not remember making, mind-mapping until you’re blue in the face and the inevitable banging of your head against the wall – this is the reality of May. Unfortunately not barbecuing in the sunshine with a jug of Pimms. So as a means of procrastination and maybe even to pull you out of the black hole of neon yellow and lined paper, here are 10 quotes to motivate you through the rest of this dreadful exam period.

4. ‘I don’t get sad, I just get awesome instead’ – Barney Stinson
One of my favourite quotes from How I Met Your Mother. Stop crying about all the work you have to do and just get on with it. Find your inner awesomeness.

Open the books, grab a highlighter and get started.

Time is precious. Have you planned your time efficiently enough so that you have time to eat and sleep as well as absorb the terms worth of information?
8. ‘Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It’s not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it’s when you’ve had everything to do and you’ve done it’– Margaret Thatcher
A day on the sofa watching TV is not going to be nearly as productive or satisfying than ticking off your revision to-do list!
9. ‘It is never too late to be what you might have been’ – George Eliot
You may have missed a few lectures and turned up late to seminars, but you can still claw that knowledge back by delving into an abyss of books and powerpoints and certainly become a perfect student!

Stop moaning, stop procrastinating and just get on with it.
The exam period is 3 weeks long. It might seem like the longest 3 weeks of your life but as soon as June 7 rolls around you can finally enjoy that BBQ and jug of Pimms – that is if the weather improves by then!
