Starting a new year at university can be very daunting. Your workload piles up and your diary starts to fill with deadlines. This can cause a lot of stress for students so it’s increasingly important to spend time doing things that relax you and provide some respite from the panic. One of my favourite things to do when I’m on the bus, walking or just in the house is listen to light-hearted podcasts. They allow you to still get tasks done whilst still providing some comedic relief from the distracting thoughts flying around in your head. So, here are some of my favourites

  1. Shagged, Married, Annoyed

Comedian Chris Ramsey teams up with his equally hilarious wife, Rosie, for this funny podcast. They discuss their ‘beefs’ with each other as a married couple, as well as answering an array of random questions from the public. Even if you’re not married (which I doubt many of you are!) this podcast is perfect for when your mood just needs a little pick me up!

  1. Off Menu

This podcast consists of comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster asking a celebrity guest what their dream meal would be. Guests range from comedians and actors to chefs and politicians but no matter who they are, the focus is always the food. So, if you love talking about food as much as you love eating it then this podcast will undoubtedly get your mouth watering.

  1. The Receipts Podcast

Three 20 something girls sit down and discuss all manner of topics that are relatable to their peers in this long running podcast. It’s so relatable and sounds just like any group of friends chatting about their love lives and experiences trying to find their way in the world. If life outside of uni is getting a bit too much, this podcast reminds you that you’re not alone and that we will all get through hard times and come out the other side

All three podcasts are available on most streaming services (Spotify, Apple, Sound Cloud etc) so next time you need to give your mind a break from the worries, why not give one a listen.
