First year English student Sarah Haywood was one of first few girls I have seen this year to brave tights and an above knee skirt as winter draws closer. Here, Sarah opted for darker colours, pairing black clothes with a short grey mini skirt. Her natural curly hair and simple make up makes her look all the more smart-casual. The silver of her necklace, watch and zips on her skirt add an extra bit of glam to this somewhat preppy look she has opted for. Many should follow in Sarahâs steps… the oncoming cold shouldnât mean a lack of skirts – âno pain no gainâ after all! Embrace the cold, and if youâre still worried, high denier tights are a life-saver!

Sarah:Â I love wearing skirts because they make me feel really girly compared to wearing jeans. Today is also not ridiculously cold really so I didnât need to wear a jumper
Me:Â What piece of clothing / accessory completes your outfit today and why?
Sarah:Â Iâd probably have to say the necklace that Iâm wearing. Just because itâs a v-neck top so I like to wear a necklace when I wear tops like this.
Me:Â What clothing item/ accessory can you not leave the house without?
Sarah:Â Umm my Michael Kors watch. Itâs so shiny I feel like it makes my outfits more exciting.
Me:Â Finally, what shop is your number 1 place to buy clothes from?
Sarah:Â Always Topshop! All of my favourite skirts and tops are from Topshop. I also really like Urban Outfitters as there are always so many nice things, especially their accessories, but itâs too expensive so I donât have as many clothes from there.
