All this week, we’re going behind the scenes of Her Campus Nottingham with our #MeetTheTeam series. Today, we spoke to our Head of Reviews, Izzy Walker.
How did you hear about Her Campus?
I heard about Her Campus through one of my course friends who was also planning to apply. I decided to join because I enjoy writing articles and it’s a great platform for you to get your writing out there for people to read!
What’s your favourite thing you’ve done this summer?
Probably visiting Devon for a week with my family and dog, not the most exotic holiday location but was still a relaxing and well needed week off after exams.
Most rewarding part of being a HCN team member?
All the staff are so lovely and it’s great to feel like you’re working together and seeing the results of the hard work through our weekly articles. It’s also a great way to meet people you may not otherwise see!
Favourite student place in Nottingham?
Definitely would have to say Bunk, cocktails and wings what more could you want? They also have half price food and drinks on some nights.
What are your future plans after university?
I would love to have a career in the journalism or publishing industry as I have really enjoyed working with Her Campus and so would love to continue with something similar. However I don’t feel adult enough for a career yet so going travelling after uni is definitely a big option.
