Sometimes, you’re struggling for a gift because nothing seems to have that personal touch. I’ve gathered ideas that I’ve used recently for milestone birthdays to give you some ideas of personal presents for everyone in your life.

Birthstone jewellery

I find that jewellery is always a hit as a gift, but you can make it even more personal by incorporating the recipient’s birthstone into it. For example, my birthday is in March, so my birthstone is Aquamarine – I once received a ring with that birthstone in it and I love it! It shows layers of thought going into the present. And birthstone jewellery is fairly popular so there’s so much choice out there!

Custom music print

If you go on Etsy and type in ‘personalised present’, you’ll find mountains of sentimental gift ideas. A particular favourite of mine is those music prints which come in all different kinds of designs, where you can select a song and either has the lyrics or the soundwaves of that song printed onto a poster. Some shops on Etsy even sell little Spotify song prints on a glass plaque, where you can even add your own picture.  It’s a safe, but personal, present for music lovers out there. And who doesn’t love music?

The Night Sky poster

This gift is a great anniversary present idea. You enter a date and location (and time if you know it) and the website generates the exact stars that were in the sky at that place on that day. So, it could be the day you met your partner, the day you got married, or even a great birthday present. It makes a fab gift for astronomy lovers, but even if not, it doesn’t get much more personal than this!

Historic Newspapers

On a similar vibe, Historic Newspapers gathers all the newspaper headlines from a certain date (such as the day someone was born) or even does entire collections of newspaper headlines of football clubs dating over 100 years old. I got the QPR one for my stepdad, and I don’t think I’ve seen him put the book down. It would be a good gift for Father’s Day! It’s really interesting, and you can add that personal touch.

A hamper

This is probably my most used present idea. Hampers are affordable (depending on how big you go!) and always a hit. You can get a basket from Hobbycraft, fill it with the recipient’s favourite snacks and drinks, even throwing in some fluffy socks or face masks. Just all the little things you know they like presented in a lovely hamper! You can even go all the way and wrap it up with a bow on top. If you’re really stuck on a present, this is the one to go for!
