The semester is still off to a fresh start, but things are picking up. Despite assignments beginning to pile up and essays approaching, we can all think of that one friend who still always manages to work out at the gym consistently. You look at the dedication that friend has and feel the need to go yourself– but, you’re so swamped in assignments. Where is the motivation, you ask yourself. Here are five things that can push you to hit the gym and #slay. Â
Â
1. You
Â
Your health is so important. You don’t want to have high cholesterol and a higher chance of heart problems when you’re older. So, it’s best to try to keep maintaining a healthy and happy lifestyle by going to the gym and jogging on a treadmill for thirty minutes at least a few times a week. A little exercise can make a big difference.
Â
2. Confidence
All women, no matter what shape and size, are beautiful. But, what’s even more beautiful is your confidence. If you feel down when seeing yourself in the mirror, turn it into motivation to go to the gym for twenty minutes on the weekend. I promise you will feel bolder and unstoppable.
Â
3. Looking to Improve     Â
Waking up feeling sluggish and panting hard after walking up a flight of stairs will be something of the past. Instead, you can feel even more energized and eventually, walking up flights of stairs will feel like a breeze if you believe in your body’s capabilities.
Â
4. AccountabilityÂ
Â
When people talk about working out, you can finally join in and even ask for tips. Or, ask a friend who wants to start exercising so that the two of you can motivate each other to go to the gym. If you decide to sign up for a membership at a gym, you can even split the cost and go for half the price. The more the merrier.
Â
5. Gym Perks
Many gym memberships come with a lot of free perks. Blink, for instance, gives 15% off at Modell’s. And, since you are paying tuition, you technically paid for the campus gym already. So, why not use it?
Â
When starting, don’t be afraid to try and test out different routines. Look up some exercises that target what you want to work on. It will definitely be hard the first week, but you will gradually get used to it so that before you know it, it will feel natural. You may even feel weird not hitting the gym after some days.
Â
Of course, you don’t have to make it so hard on yourself. Even walking for thirty minutes on the treadmill once or twice a week is a great way to start. You’re at least getting some of that daily exercise. The fact that you rolled out of bed and to the gym says a lot about your self will.
Â
So, happy gymming! Here’s to loving ourselves and nourishing our bodies.
