Winter break is coming up and with it comes the perfect time to dive into some new podcasts! Getting tired of your old true-crime podcast, and need new inspo for that long commute home? Need to find a last-minute gift for friends or family? Give your loved ones the gift of the perfect podcast! We’ve got just what you need. From glam to film analysis to comedy to infectious diseases (more on that later) here is a rundown of all of the podcasts that will keep your mind off the bitter winter chill.

1. Villains

Produced by The Ringer and hosted by Shea Serrano, Villains is a weekly podcast (with bonus episodes) hosted by Shea Serrano delves deep into the psyches of your favorite iconic movie villains and asks the serious questions such as: “Did Regina George really deserve to get hit by that bus?”, “Was Killmonger justified in his actions in Wakanda?” From COCO to The Silence of the Lambs, Serrano and his friends offer an inquisitive and critical look at the most popular movie villains that we hate to love and love to hate.

2. This Podcast Will Kill You

Just kidding! This podcast won’t kill you, but it covers almost everything that can. Produced by Exactly Right, This Podcast Will Kill You dives deep into the sciences behinds the diseases that have plagued humankind (pun intended) and give us insight on how scared we need to be. Hosted by ecologists and epidemiologists Erin Welsh and Erin Allmann Updyke, diseases from MRSA to Ebola are explained in a way that is both informative and fun, like the science lesson you’ve always wished you had in school.

3. Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness

Hosted by everyone’s favorite Groomer on Queer Eye, Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness is a weekly podcast that explores anything and everything that JVN is curious about. Every episode takes you on a journey into a new topic, and from medical marijuana to Emoluments, you’re guaranteed to learn something new while also getting a dose of glam.
