Her Campus NYU’s Favorite Beauty Products This Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at NYU chapter.

With spring creeping up, ditching the tights isn’t the only thing we’re excited about. Warm weather means warm faces – peachy tones, bubble gum pinks, bright magentas, and corals that put the Barrier Reef to shame. Spring and summer are the seasons to leave hair au natural and cheeks slightly flushed, and it’s hard to deny – we’re so relieved!   As April rolls around, here’s how the Her Campus NYU girls will be celebrating with their favorite beauty products.

Marc Jacob’s Daisy Perfume“This floral perfume is perfect for spring because it is both fresh and feminine! Nothing says springtime like the light smell of daisies!” $76, Sephora.com

Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy in Pocket Aces“This nail polish gives you the wonderful feeling and look – and long last – of a salon gel polish without the money and the radiation. It is a great option that is in between your regular nail polish and your pricy professional manicure. The ‘Pocket Aces’ shade is a rich coral that is great for spring to add a bright pop of color, especially coming out of a long and cold winter!” $7.99, Ulta.com

Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Mandarin“My favorite beauty product for this spring and summer is Smashbox’s “Be Legendary” lipstick. It’s the perfect brightness for any outdoor event, daytime or evening. I love wearing it with a sundress and wedges, or anything floral.” $20, smashbox.com

Kayla Keegan, SeniorHer Campus NYU Love Editor

ECLOS Aqua Balm Finishing Mist“Once April hits, I never leave my apartment without a quick spray of this light and effective formula. Apply after your normal beauty routine, and you won’t have to worry about your makeup melting from the heat ever again.” $17.99, ulta.com

Revlon Powder Blush in Classy Coral“There’s no better time to incorporate coral in your makeup routine, which is why this blush is always my go-to during the spring. A few quick strokes of this blush on the apples of my cheeks gives my face a warm, innocent glow.” $10.49, Revlon.com

Mac Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Bare Study“I absolutely love to use this during the springtime, especially when I want a quick and easy way to highlight my eyes. Dabbing a little in the corners and on the lids adds just the right amount of shimmer to my face without looking unnatural or heavy.” $21, maccosmetics.com

Lauren Craddock, FreshmanHer Campus NYU Contributing Writer

Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer in Pretty in Peach“For me spring is about color! From pretty pastels, to bright oranges and yellows, spring is the time when I like to bring out colors from intense to soft, especially in my nails. My all time favorite polish is Maybelline’s Color Show Nail Lacquer, as the consistency is the perfect balance of watery and thick, and I’ve found lasts longer than most other polishes! I chose the Pretty In Peach color – it’s sort of an in-between bold and soft touch of color.” $3.99, Maybelline.com

Hannah Leach,  SophomoreHer Campus NYU Contributing Writer

Benefit High Beam Enhancer“I would be nothing without my High Beam highlight potion by Benefit! I originally got this item in a sampler along with a lip/cheek tint also by Benefit (an amazing value, by the way, $15 at Ulta). I’m a huge fan of this product’s pearly shine and blend-ability, especially when used as a brow bone highlight. Benefit knows quality, and this product def doesn’t disappoint.” $26, Sephora.com

Madison Fraser, SophomoreHer Campus NYU Contributing Writer

Tata Harper Volumizing Lip and Cheek Tint in Very Charming“Nothing gives me a better dewy glow than this creamy cheek tint! After slathering on BB cream, dabbing this on my cheekbones and lips gives me the perfect summery flush when I’m crunched for time. And it doesn’t hurt that it smells like sweet cherries, either.” $35, tataharperskincare.com

Oribe Beach Wave and Shine Spray“After making the switch to a choppy shoulder length ‘do, my hairdresser recommended this spray to enhance my natural waves. As someone who hates crunchy hair, I’m addicted to the soft volume it creates. It’s the perfect alternative to sea salt spray – all the looks of a supermodel on the beach without the goopy fuss. I can’t start my day without it!” $39, birchbox.com

Rebecca Muller, FreshmanHer Campus NYU Contributing Writer

Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Bronzer“This bronzer is my absolute favorite beauty product to use as the weather gets warmer. Because I don’t like wearing a lot of makeup, I love just putting this bronzer on my cheeks for a natural glow. It is shimmery enough for people to notice its bronze pigment, but subtle enough for a casual summer day. Plus, it looks good on every skin tone!”  $28, Sephora.com

Claudia Dimuro, SeniorHer Campus NYU Campus Correspondent

MAC Eye Kohl in Costa Riche“Not only is the color great to bring out blue or hazel eyes, but the eye pencil is long-lasting and goes on the smoothest out of any kohl I’ve tried thus far.” $16, maccosmetics.com

Devon Kelliher, SophomoreHer Campus Contributing Writer

LiQWd The Perfect Wave “Hair styling cream can usually leave your hair feeling crunchy and gross, but this one from LiQWd gives you the perfect beach waves with none of the fuss. I love the beachy waves look, and it’s perfect for the warmer weather in springtime! Just work a small amount of the cream through your hair after it’s been washed. I usually do this before bed and then put my hair in a messy top bun, which adds to the naturally curly/beachy look.” $22, birchbox.com
