Dating in New York City can be summarized by endless swiping, and the one-in-a-million chance you’ll see that cutie you were eyeing on the subway where he will profess his love for you. Even when you do find that SO, the dinner/movie/bar routine can get old and tiring pretty quickly. Whether you are searching for your SO or already found yours, here are some fun date ideas that you wouldn’t immediately think of when it comes to NYC to keep the romance alive!

City Pups

Located on Christopher Street in the West Village, City Pups lets you play with the puppies they have for sale. Just pick your furry friend and sit down in one of their puppy pens – guaranteed smiles and only the best of vibes.

Roller Skating

Head down to Pier 2 at the Brooklyn Bridge Park to rent some skates and try your hand at roller skating. If you’re not ready to join a roller derby team any time soon, don’t worry! This is the perfect way to share some laughs and see who gets away with the least embarrassing fall. Plus, you get to enjoy the beautiful Manhattan skyline and the park once you’re done at the rink.

The Uncommons NYC

If it’s the bar vibe you’re after, The Uncommons NYC is the perfect place to get you what you want, but still add something new to the date. Grab your SO and play some board games over drinks! This is also the perfect place for a double date; invite your favorite couple and head to 230 Thompson Street for some competitive, laid-back fun.

Museum of Interesting Things

One of the (many) things New York City does not lack is museums – there is always one you have yet to explore. The Museum of Interesting Things is a by-appointment-only activity where you’ll be able to learn and talk about various “interesting” objects… intrigued yet? Bring your SO to something they would never expect to walk into; it’s bound to be a good story!

As much as we love the occasional dinner-and-a-movie combo, we shouldn’t take everything this city has to offer for granted. We hope this guide inspires you to take advantage of the many fun and unique ways to spend time with your SO in NYC!
