Arts in the Community is an arts-focused, community and service based club at New York University. Arts in the Community strives to foster an environment where creative students can come together and celebrate all kinds of art.
I joined the club as a freshman before all club activities were closed due to the pandemic. Previous events include bullet journaling workshops, origami movie night, and seeing Legally Blonde The Musical!Â
As a result of COVID, Arts in the Community is unable to hold regular meetings and events, but that doesn’t stop this club from meeting virtually. Events like Art Kahoot Nights, movie screenings of Oscar nominations, and Paint by Number nights are all in store for members.Â
These events are a great way to meet new people who share the same love, interest, and passion for art. I have been an artist for several years, but since I came to college connecting with my artistic side was difficult.Â
Between getting caught up in the chaos of NYC and balancing college work, my artistic side was at death’s door. Hence, I was glad to learn about Arts in the Community. They have the most talented, fun, and passionate members and leaders! Every session is filled with laughter, smiles and learning from one another.
The company is truly what makes this club so special.Â
Arts in the Community meets virtually on Thursday evenings on Zoom. Subscribe to our newsletter to share your love for arts, make friends, and join an amazing community. We hope to see you there!
