HC NYU: Who are your personal girl crushes and why?VY: Tina Fey and Amy Poehler because they can make me laugh like no other. Also, Hillary Clinton because she shows us that yes, we can have it all.
HC NYU: What attracts you to said girl crushes?VY: Not only are they driven, they all have great senses of self-awareness and humor. I find self-made women who’ve accomplished their dreams through hard work and determination while remaining down-to-earth to be truly inspirational.
HC NYU: What personality traits do you view as constituting a girl crush?VY:Â The fearlessness needed to go after what you want and be yourself, but also the ability to stay humble.
HC NYU:  What are some personal attributes that you pride yourself on?VY: I’m proud of my ability to talk nonstop about anything and everything. I love talking and meeting new people, and I think these two things in particular have really enriched my life. From meeting new friends in the laundry room, to striking up random conversations with the locals while studying abroad, everyone I’ve met has taught me something new and interesting about the world.
HC NYU: Do you have a moment in your life of which you’re particularly proud of?VY: Just the whole process of moving 3,000 miles away from home to live in New York and go to college has been a great experience I’m proud of. Not only have I figured out to feed myself (sort of), I’ve found that I’ve become more open minded and adventurous. Being here has taught me the importance of reminding myself about how much there is to learn; every time I learn something new, it’s humbling to realize how little I knew before and how much more there is still to discover. I’m proud of how much I’ve grown, and I look forward to changing and learning more every day.
HC NYU: What’s your favorite place that you’ve visited?VY: The Czech Republic will always have a special place in my heart because I spent four months studying abroad in Prague my sophomore year. I chose the location sort of on a whim but immediately fell in love with the beautiful Moravian countryside and classical Baroque architecture.
