I never in my life thought that one day, I would be so obsessed with salad. Now, I don’t know how many times have I sat in class, craving for one from SweetGreen. Sometimes I really question what the restaurant puts in their salads–they are seriously ADDICTING.
On their menu, Sweetgreen offers six signature salads and three seasonal salads. Each salad is designed to have just the perfect amount of flavor and texture. Each of them has their unique characteristics, and you’ll certainly want to find the one that suits you.
After trying all the signature salads, I compiled a list of a few of my favorites.
1) Guacamole Greens
This classic Sweetgreen salad has been on its menu ever since Sweetgreen was first founded. It is their most popular salad, and I’ve got to say that there’s a reason it’s so popular. The fresh mesclun greens, with the most flavorful grilled chicken I’ve ever eaten topped with crunchy tortilla chips, add just enough of flavor and texture to every fork into this salad.
2) OMG Omega
The sweet and umami flavored, miso-sesame-ginger dressing complements the slightly bitter arugula. Topped with a warm grilled steelhead, this salad is one of the more filling choices at Sweetgreen. I personally love how there’s a slight trace of basil, adding a bold flavor to the mix.
3) Hummus Tahini
This mediterranean salad is the one I dig into when I’m craving some falafel but too guilty to eat one from a cart. The herb falafels and vegetables dressed with cucumber-tahini yogurt dressing and hummus making this salad full of different spices and flavors. Topped with fresh local feta cheese, it just can’t get any better.
4) Rad Thai
If you want something sweet, sour, and refreshing, the salad that I totally recommend is the Rad Thai. The Rad Thai has a spicy cashew dressing similar to that found in pad thai (as you can infer from the name). This salad has a variety of delicious ingredients including bean sprouts, carrots, shredded purple cabbage, cucumbers and sunflower seeds. It’s topped with citrus shrimp, which blends deliciously with the dressing.
5) Peach + Goat Cheese (Seasonal)
This salad topped with sweet summer peaches is one of the seasonal signature salads for late summer. If you want to try this salad, you should try it within this week as Sweetgreen is launching their fall menu very soon. This salad also has a mesclun base with basil for flavor, and almonds for crunch. Then, it’s topped with goat cheese and a sweet balsamic vinegar dressing. I would really recommend this salad if you like your salad on the sweet side.
As I have mentioned before, Sweetgreen has seasonal signature salads, and their fall menu will be launching very soon. Other than the Peach + Goat Cheese salad, all of the salads mentioned are available all year round. Hopefully one of these salads will be the one perfect for you. If not, you can always customize one especially for you. I’m sure either way, you’ll be amazed by delicious salads can be.
