We’ve all been there: one of those days when you wake up feeling like you have even less energy than you did when you went to sleep. Here’s 5 things you can do to feel like you’re still getting things done:

1. Make your bed!

I know we’ve all heard this before, probably by our parents, but it does make a difference. When you make your bed you’re less likely to want to get back in it, plus it makes your room feel more organized and your life a bit more structured.

2. Self-care alert!

Brush your teeth, your hair, and your face (if that’s what you’re into). You’re running late for work or your morning zoom class––I get it and I’ve been there, but it will only take a few minutes and you’ll feel way more prepared for the day (and probably less stinky, too).

3. Prioritize!

How do we do it? Lists! It can be very overwhelming to create lists if you’re attempting to write down everything that needs to get done in the next month. Rome wasn’t built in one day, right? Focus on the day, week if you have to, and on what’s urgent while adding in a task or two outside of work and school. As someone who tends to procrastinate, I recommend picking 3-5 things on your seemingly never ending list that are top-priority. Make sure you get them done, and be sure to celebrate after!

4. Make sure to communicate!

You’re not the first, nor the last to ever be late to turn in an assignment. That being said, how do you crush the guilt of knowing you didn’t get the job done on time? Let them know! More than likely, your professor or boss will appreciate the acknowledgement. It lets them know you haven’t forgotten, and helps you feel accountable at the same time. Talk about killing two birds with one stone, am I right?

Finally, what is the best productive ending to an incredibly productive day, you ask?

5. Prepare for tomorrow!

If you work, put out your uniform. A student too? Pick out your outfit! Do your skin care routine, cover all of the hygiene basics, and get to bed on time! You’ll sleep easier knowing you’re ready to go when you wake up, plus after all that productivity you deserve a good night’s sleep!
