This week, the episode centered around the hometown dates, where Peter visited each of the remaining four girls’ hometowns.
The episode began with Peter visiting Hannah Ann at her hometown in Tennessee. They began their date at an axe-throwing place and at the end, Peter gave Hannah Ann a cheesy yet cute letter detailing what he likes about her (since she wrote him one a couple of weeks back).
When they got to her family’s home, Peter spoke to both of her parents. Hannah Ann’s father expressed his doubt towards Peter’s feelings, as he knows Peter is also involved with three other women. Peter confessed to her parents that he was planning on vocalizing his love for her.
The next hometown date was with Kelsey in Iowa, where they made their own wine. At her family’s home, her mother warned Peter about breaking her daughter’s heart. Her family was very protective of Kelsey, as Peter has not told her he’s falling for her yet.
- Big moment #1: Madison’s secret
-
The third hometown date was with Madison in her hometown in Alabama. They visited Auburn University and played basketball in the arena. At her home, they had an intimate dinner with Madison’s family. After dinner, Madison had a deep conversation with her mother about whether she has told Peter about wanting to save herself for marriage. Madison’s father expressed to Peter that he was not entirely ready to give his blessing, but that he was still hopeful for their relationship. At the end of the date, Madison did not feel ready to tell Peter she loved him and also did not bring up her beliefs regarding sex before marriage.
- Big moment #2 : The warning
-
The last hometown date was with Victoria F. in Virginia. On their date, they went to the beach and explored the city. Afterward, they had a private concert with Hunter Hayes (a callback to the Chase Rice concert incident).
After the concert, Peter ran into an ex-girlfriend named Marissa (whose face was blurred) who is also from Virginia Beach. She confronted and warned him about Victoria F. being manipulative and ending several friendships and relationships. Peter was noticeably shocked about hearing this, altering his perception of their entire date.
- Big moment #3: Victoria’s breakdown
-
Prior to going in to meet her family, Peter brought up the incident to Victoria F. She was incredibly angered about it and did not see his perspective. She got so upset about it, she said she was “done” and left Peter at her front porch, believing him to be taking Marissa’s side when he never stated such and instead wanted to engage in sincere communication about the issue.
For nearly the first time, Peter made Bachelor fans proud for calling out Victoria F.’s dramatic and erratic behavior. Instead of going on with the date, Peter left, thus not meeting her family.
The next day, Victoria F. visited Peter at his hotel to talk about the incident. At that moment, she told him she was falling in love with him. Peter, however, expressed that he feels frustrated at her tendency to walk away from their problems as well as his doubt about whether their relationship could last.
- Big moment #4: The mistake
-
Against all odds, at the rose ceremony, Peter gave the final three roses to Hannah Ann, Madison, and Victoria F.– disappointing Bachelor nation.
The episode ended on a cliffhanger, where Madison went to talk to Peter about her concerns about sleeping together before marriage.
Next week, Peter and the remaining women will head to Australia for the fantasy suite dates.
