The finale episode of Pilot Pete’s season opened with Chris Harrison giving a quick recap of the previous episode from yesterday. Peter is then seen reflecting on his experience and his thought process.
Peter is seen picking out a ring from Neil Lane and explains how he is absolutely in love with Hannah Ann. He is then seen face timing Hannah Ann’s father getting his permission to propose.

Hannah Ann is seen getting ready in her suite for what is to come. She reflects how much she loves Peter but discusses the conversation she had with Peter the previous night where he stated his heart was torn between Madison and Hannah Ann and she expresses that she doesn’t know how much more she can keep giving without receiving.
Peter is seen ready to give the final rose and propose when Chris Harrison meets him to tell him that they are unsure if Hannah Ann is showing up.

Peter is seen lying on a bed thinking he might pass out. The camera then cuts to Hannah Ann in a car and Chris Harrison comes to tell Peter that she’s coming.
Hannah Ann meets Peter where they hug and Peter begins to reflect on their time on the show together and tells her the news that Madison had left two days ago. He begins to explain all the reasons he is picking her and tells her he loves her and picks her. He pulls out a ring box and gets down on one knee, proposing to Hannah Ann and she says yes. He then asks if she’ll accept his last rose like she accepted the first rose.

back in Los Angeles, we see Peter going home to tell his parents and brother what happened and who he picked. Peter’s mom cries as soon as he opens the door. Peter lets them know he is engaged and how happy he is to be with his person: Hannah Ann. Peter’s mom screams and breaks down crying. Peter then face times Hannah Ann with his family.

Back at the live showing, Chris Harrison invites peter to the stage to reveal the drama that followed. We see Hannah Ann meeting up with Peter in LA after not seeing each other for a month since the engagement. Peter expresses how he is struggling even though he knows he loves Hannah Ann. Hannah Ann explains that she needs a full commitment from Peter like she is giving to him.
Peter apologizes but Hannah Ann doesn’t understand why he didn’t just let her go instead of taking away what she wanted to be her only engagement. Hannah Ann tells Peter that she’s done, gives him the ring back and tries to leave. Peter chases after her but Hannah Ann stays strong and leaves Peter crying in the driveway.

We then see Hannah Ann and Peter both on stage at the live showing. Hannah Ann expresses how he knew exactly what to say to keep her around even after the breakup such as reaching out to her parents. Hannah Ann was given the last word and she expressed how she was blindsided and that their engagement involved 3 women: herself, Peter still being in love with Madison, and Peter still needing closure with Hannah brown. She ended with, “In order to be with a woman you need to be a real man.”

We next see Chris Harrison head to Auburn, Alabama and sit down to talk to Madison. She expresses how she has had a hard time since returning home from Australia and is trying to move forward and not live in the past. Chris asks if she regrets leaving and she explains that she would do things differently if she had the opportunity.
Chris expresses that Peter got engaged and that Peter does not know that he is in Auburn right now, as well as that peter is single and the engagement with Hannah Ann has been broken off. She expresses that her feelings are still there but is unsure of where his head would be at. Chris tells Madison that Peter broke his engagement due to his feelings for her.
Madison is seen being dropped off in LA to find Peter surprised to see her but willing to talk. After talking, Peter asks, “so what do we do?” The shot fades to black and takes us back to the live showing where Peter says he hasn’t seen Madison since that day but that he is still in love with her.

Madison comes out to meet Peter on stage during the live showing. Madison expresses that she too still loves Peter. Chris Harrison asks how is this going to end? Peter explains that while they haven’t seen each other, they have been talking and know that they have both been extremely hurt by this situation. Peter says that they want to take the relationship one day at a time but the feelings he has for her aren’t going to change.
Peter’s mother then expressed her feelings towards Madison and the issues that came from the meeting in Australia. Madison expressed that she wanted to make sure that she was completely herself during this journey on the show and that she doesn’t know what it’s like to be a mom, but that she does have love and respect for Peter and his family.
Peter defends Madison and the situation by telling his mother that, “I love Madison and that should be enough.” Peter’s dad expresses his hate for the situation knowing that there are so many obstacles before the relationship even begins. Chris Harrison then expresses that he wants only the best for peter and Madison separately or together.
The show ends with the new 2020 Bachelorette, Clare Crawley coming out to meet the Bachelor Nation, as well as a flashback to her season on “The Bachelor.”
