Some Fall Tricks You’ll Love On Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Ohio U chapter.

Fall is slowly, but surely creeping up on everybody in Athens. It is finally sweatshirt weather and about time to pull out the Sperry boots and scarves. But what really is there to do on campus to celebrate the newly arrived season? Here are just a few options that Athens holds for all you fall lovers:

1.    Libby’s Pumpkin Patch

About a 15-minute drive, Libby’s Pumpkin Patch is open in Albany on Saturday and Sunday’s from 12:00-5:00 p.m. for pumpkin picking, corn mazing, and hay riding! Also calls for a great photo opp!

2.    Bong or Radar Hill

Bong Hill is located just off Stimson and Radar is at the end of the Ridges Trails. If you’re into hiking, or just sight-seeing in general, these are the spots for you. Visit these for a beautiful view of Athens in the fall!

3. The Ridges

The Ridges is located just outside of Ohio University’s campus and a great spot to be spooked. Take a little trip with your friends and explore what used to be an insane asylum years ago. The fall weather and falling leaves may give you just that chill you’re looking for!

4.    See a scary movie at The Athena, the Athena Grand of Funbarn!

All locations are available (and cheap) to see yourself a scary movie accompanied by a cheap bag of delicious popcorn. The Athena is located on Court Street and hosts just a few movies, while the Athena Grand and Funbarn are home to your newest horror movies — including Happy Death Day! Don’t miss out!

5.    Football games

This is an opportunity to get yourself out there in the Athens community and share some Bobcat pride with your fellow Bobcats. Also, a great opportunity to take in the lovely fall weather (there’s a beer garden at football games now, everyone!)

6. Stroll in Strouds

Check out Strouds, which is usually the go-to location for laying out and getting tan when the weather is warm and sunny. Check it out now for some beautiful views of the trees, and a relaxing opportunity to just unwind.

If none of these ideas are for you, there’s always that one street Court Street.
