College is a learning experience, but here are some tips to put you just ahead of the learning curve.Â
- Go to the libraryÂ
-
You may think that studying in your room will be enough to prepare for a test or get your work done, but between friends coming and interrupting you or getting distracted by your TV, it becomes extremely hard to focus. The library forces you to go and get your work done, and I promise you will see improvement!Â
- Get up earlyÂ
-
I completely understand the need to sleep in, we all do! But the days that you get up and start your day early are the days when you accomplish the most and you’ll feel better about what you did at the end of the day. Â
- Explore the townÂ
-
Get off campus and go to all the fun places that are in your area! In most college towns, the stores and restaurants around you are one of a kind, and it’s worth it to experience them while you can. As a junior I’m just now discovering different things that I wish I would’ve known about 2 years ago!
- Don’t eat French fries every dayÂ
-
I cannot stress this enough. I know that having them so easily accessible at all times is hard to turn down, but I promise you will regret it.Â
- Go to the gym on campusÂ
-
This is probably the only time in your life that you will have a full gym available to you that you don’t have to pay extra for, so definitely take advantage. This will also give you some wiggle room to occasionally eat the fries in the dining hall.Â
Aside from following these tips, make sure that you have fun, and make your college experience what you want it to be.Â
