I don’t know about you but I love candy! Halloween was always one of my favorite holidays because you got to go door to door and receiving handfuls free candy. I would count my stash at the end of the night and live off those sweets for the next month. Then you become an adult and Halloween suddenly becomes so much less fun. You can still dress up but you have to go out to the store and buy really overpriced candy for yourself, which totally defeats the purpose! Well here is how you can turn it around. Grab your friends, some ingredients and basic baking tools and make your own Halloween favorites this October 31st. Here are my top five favorite DIY Halloween candy classics.

1. Giant Reese’s Cup

There is no better combination than peanut butter and chocolate! This supersized candy dessert is the perfect blend of both. The giant Reese’s cup can serve up to 16 people, and only takes about 20 mins to make. Remember that you need to refrigerate it for about an hour, so plan ahead if your hosting a Halloween party! Click here if you want to try it yourself!

2. Almond Joy Bark

Almond joys are one of those elusive Halloween candies that only the good houses would hand out. No need to search for them anymore, this bark is super easy to make and combines bittersweet chocolate, almonds, coconut and sea salt into the perfect snack. You can make it in bigger or smaller batches, but leave enough time to refrigerate! Here is the recipe!

3. Twix Bar

This three-layer Twix bar involves making your own caramel, using caramel squares and heavy cream, trust me it is worth the process! This recipe is a little more challenging, but doable; it serves around 2 dozen people. Invite your friends over, put on a Halloween movie and enjoy this shortbread, caramel, and chocolate treat! Here is the recipie!

4. Homemade Kit-Kat Bars

A crazy mix of club crackers, peanut butter, chocolate and butterscotch, these are your favorite Kit-Kat bars with a seriously delicious twist.  It may sound like a crazy combination of flavors but it tastes amazing. Give it a try!

5. Homemade Snickers Bars

Finally, last but not least my favorite candy ever, Snickers! Carmel, peanut butter, roasted peanuts, and marshmallow fluff combined. They may sound complicated but these bars they are actually really easy to make, look amazing and serve a lot of people. They are super rich and perfect to share. Click here for the recipe!

This spooky season have fun making your own Halloween candy.  Put on your favorite Halloween movie, and make your friends help by promising them delicious treats! Get in the kitchen to whip up these recipes.

Happy baking!

Abby
