There is nothing better than coming back to your dorm after a long day of class and meetings. Chances are, you still have some reading or assignments to do. It is crucial to take a break before starting more work to refocus after a busy day. Here are some aspects of a relaxing nighttime routine to try during this busy time:
- Take a hot shower
-
There is no better feeling than being clean and in your pajamas. Hop in the shower,
listen to some music and relax. Reflect on the day’s events and what you need to
accomplish before tomorrow. Now, you’re ready to tackle your to-do list clean and
comfy. - Make some tea
-
I have grown up loving tea but have found it more beneficial as I have gotten older. I
especially enjoy green tea with honey or blueberry acai. Tea can be calming and
motivating as you are trying to check off tasks on your to-do list. I will always enjoy my
nighttime cup of tea, especially when feeling under the weather or stressed! - Watch an episode of your favorite show before bed
-
After spending the night doing homework and catching up on everyday tasks, it can be
nice to take 30 minutes or so to rewind before laying down. I tend to pick Friends, as it is
light-hearted and comedic. This way, I don’t go to bed thinking of schoolwork and
pondering my unaccomplished tasks. This little break can do wonders and act as a little
reward for an accomplished day!
Hope you will try some of my tips and practice self-care before finals! Happy relaxing!
