This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OR State chapter.

Names: Meagan Amos and Tony Barnett

Hometown: Newport, OR (M) and Navarre, FL (T)

Major/Minor: Graphic Design & New Media Communications (M), Graphic Design & Apparel Design (T)

Year: Junior (M), Senior (T)

This week’s Campus Celebrities are YouTubers Megan Amos and Tony Barnett of Raylise! Read on to find out what inspires them:

HC at Oregon State: What inspired you to start your YouTube channel? And what is Raylise about?

Meagan + Tony: It started out as solely Tony’s graphic design page. and then we moved to include apparel design and decided to collaborate. We then made an Instagram, Facebook page, a Tumblr page, and are now doing YouTube videos. Raylise is Raymond and Elise and is a combination of both our middle names and one of many names we thought about when creating our channel.

HC at Oregon State: Do you have any other lifestyle or fashion vloggers that you watch on a regular basis and love?

Meagan + Tony: Samantha Maria of Beauty Crush, Foreveraubreyxx, JairWoo, and Patricia Bright of Brit Pop Princess are some of our favorites.

HC at Oregon State: What has been your favorite video to make so far?

Meagan + Tony: Our haul and fashion Lookbook videos were the most fun and easy to do, so they are definitely my favorite videos we have made so far.

HC at Oregon State: What are your goals for your channel in the future?

Meagan + Tony: In the future we would like to become more popular and pull in sponsors. We would also like to create products from the apparel designs you see on our Design Studio videos so they aren’t simply a digital sketch.

HC at Oregon State: Are there any other ways you are involved on campus and do you have a job currently?

Meagan: I work at the Beaver Store as an apparel clerk.  I’m also involved with the DAMchic web team and I am a member of Alpha Omicron Pi.

Tony: I work at Seventh Street Station and I’m also a member of the DAMchic web team.

HC at Oregon State: How do you balance your school commitments, your channel, and working?

Meagan + Tony: We’re currently figuring out our scheduling for our channel so that we are posting on a regular basis. We hope to post individual videos on Monday and Tuesday, and then have a video posted on the weekends where we both could be in the video so we can work around our jobs, social lives, and school commitments.

HC at Oregon State: What is your biggest piece of advice for other students who may want to create a YouTube channel?

Meagan: Be yourself! Do something you’re interested in and that you love.

Tony: Do something you’re confident in and don’t be afraid, because everyone on the internet is going to hate no matter what you do.

Madeline is a Senior at Oregon State majoring in Merchandising Management and minoring in writing. She was the 2016-'17 president of Chi Theta Phi, a local design sorority on campus. If she's not in class, at a club meeting, chapter, or writing, she's probably spending time with her family, friends, walking her dogs, eating junk food, or watching too many crime, comedy, or fashion shows on Netflix. She likes cheese, dogs, creative projects, obnoxious animal prints, garage sales, farmer's markets, and generally just being silly.
