Fashion Spotlight: Kate Spade Saturday

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at OR State chapter.

As fans of Kate Spade New York, we were devastated to hear that by the end of 2015 Kate Spade Saturday will be completely closed.

This comes as a shock to us because it only opened in March of 2013, and it features products similar to Kate Spade, but with a lower price point. The first brick and mortar store opened in Tokyo in March 2013 before they then launched their online store.

Kate Spade Saturday features clothing items, handbags and accessories in fun colors and prints. They are known for a more casual style than Kate Spade New York. They mainly focus on weekend wear and even offer weekender bags that can be custom designed on their website. This sister brand follows the motto of Kate Spade and inspires customers to “live colorfully” every day.

All of the brick and mortar Kate Spade Saturday stores are set to all close in the first half of 2015, and the website will close by the end of the year. After that, the brand is planned to be reintegrated as part of Kate Spade New York.

Since the stores are set to close, the good thing is that they will be having a lot of different sales throughout the rest of the year! Make sure to check out their website frequently for new deals. While this is a sad day for a lot of Kate Spade lovers, it is also a great opportunity to find deals on the clothes and accessories that we love.
