The Hunting Ground was one of the most talked about films at Sundance Film Festival this year. The film focuses on sexual assaults that take place on U.S. college campuses and about the institutional cover ups that have occurred. This film has created a huge buzz and is highly anticipated even though there is no set release date quite yet.
The Hunting Ground focuses on a few campuses with sexual assault cases that have created a lot of conflict. One of the main storylines is a focus on the rape case against Florida State University’s quarterback Jameis Winston. This film features the first time his victim has spoken publicly. Along with that case the movie also focuses on fraternity incidents that occurred on campuses across the United States. This movie is being called the next “Blackfish,” and it is set to release in theaters and on CNN by the end of this year.
We are looking forward to its release and to seeing how this could affect colleges sexual assault punishment. If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the trailer below and let us know your thoughts on this issue!
